COACH'S code of Conduct

 Coaches play a critical role in the development of athletes and the overall experience of baseball within
COMBA. All coaches are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of
respect, integrity, development, and sportsmanship.

 

 

PLAY – Lead with Respect
- Lead with sportsmanship and respect at all times.
- Treat all players fairly and with dignity.
- Use appropriate language and behavior.
- Refrain from alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances at any COMBA activity.


HUSTLE – Be Prepared and Professional
- Arrive prepared and on time for all activities.
- Put player safety and well-being first.
- Follow COMBA, BC Minor Baseball, and Baseball Canada rules.
- Communicate respectfully with all participants.


GROW – Develop Players and Yourself
- Focus on skill development and enjoyment of the game.
- Provide constructive, age-appropriate feedback.
- Respect umpire decisions.
- Maintain required certifications and training.

 

Accountability
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or
removal. All disciplinary decisions by the COMBA Board are final.

 

 

 

Finally, I promise to abide by the BC Minor Code of Conduct (rule 13, page 47).

 

If I observe any violations of this Code of Conduct by other coaches or those to be followed by either parents or
players, I will abide by and adhere to the COMBA Conflict Resolution Policy in dealing with the matter of concern, if necessary.

 

I have read and understand this COMBA Code of Conduct as described above. I am aware that any failure on my behalf to comply with the above may result in my temporary or permanent removal from all COMBA sponsored activities and negation of my playing privileges. I agree that all decisions in these matters made by COMBA board of directors are final and binding.
