During our AGM this year it was discussed and agreed upon that COMBA would set up committees to assist with sponsorships, fundraising, fields, equipment etc.
Our fundraising committee has been established and we have some great ideas and plans in the works for the 2024 season.
As a committee we believe that we need to establish goals and communicate what we are fundraising for as an Association. As a non-profit, we have to lean on fundraising/sponsorships heavily for improvements around our facilities.
Our 2024 goal is to fundraise $50,000.00. All funds raised in 2024 will be going towards our fundraising efforts towards our portion of funding to an open application with the Jays Care Foundation in partnership with the City of Kelowna. Within the application safety upgrades are planned for Edith Gay including adding grass infields on Diamonds 1 & 2, installing wood backstops, improving the seating, storage and organization in the dugouts and installing safety nets on the fields near the children's playground. As an Association, we are also looking forward to other improvements at Edith Gay, including an indoor hitting facility. WIth the loss of access to other Kelowna facilities, an indoor hitting facility is needed more than ever for our growing Association.
COMBA currently has an open fundraiser at Fisherman's Market. The attached link is easy to use and COMBA makes a nice return on each item that is ordered. If you love seafood and are having guests over the holiday season, please consider supporting this fundraising effort.
Also, please keep an eye open for fundraising events in 2024. We all want to make COMBA an awesome place for our kids to grow and compete and as an Association, we encourage everyone to support our fundraisers.
Thanks for your time.
